EARLY LIFE

In Kenya, like many parts of the world, the 90s were a golden era in music because of those R&B tunes and to date they still dominate the Music industry. Dj Deknow whose real names are Dennis Mwendwa was born in the Early 90’s in the music dominated Dandora Hiphop city. Deknow was exposed to the growth of Kenyan genres Hiphop, Kapuka and Genge which highly influenced his love for music. He was later exposed to international genres Reggae, Dancehall and Rap music.

EDUCATION

He is an alumni of Total Care Acadamy, Nairobi Primary, Brookshine School, Sunshine Secondary School and The Catholic University of Eastern Africa.

CAREER

In 2014, Deknow started his deejaying journey which was full of obstacles but turned out to be a success when he was nominated in the 2016 Rongai Matatu Awards alongside the gurus in the industry, Dj Kalonje, Dj Leskie, Dj Demakufu, Dj lyta, Dj Joe Mfalme, Dj Bash, Dj Creepa, Dj Nickdee and Dj Stone. He has gone on to produce some of the biggest mixtapes in the country and Africa at large i.e Reggae Rollup, Qwaito Mixtape and Kenyan Throwback Mixtape which boasts more than a total of one million combined views on youtube. Having graced many corporates events all around the country, Dj Deknow was the Dj at the Kenya Gotv Shield Cup Semi Final in Nakuru and the Final at Safaricom Moi Stadium.

He has tendered his services at various events and locations across the country such as Simba Saloon(Carnivore Restaurant,Club Blue Velvet,The Loft,Park Place(Former Rhino club),Diaspora Lounge etc.
